Card guarantees, deposits and no-show fees
Protect big tables and busy evenings without scaring guests away.
Card guarantee
The guest saves a card when booking (with the bank's confirmation). Nothing is charged. If the guest doesn't come, or cancels later than your free-cancellation time, you can press Charge no-show fee on the booking.
Deposit
The guest pays an amount per person when booking. When you seat them at a table, the deposit is deducted from the table's bill. A cancellation in time refunds it automatically; a late cancellation or a no-show keeps it.
- 1Open Bookings → Booking rules → No-shows.
- 2Choose Card guarantee or Deposit and the amount per guest.
- 3Choose when it applies: every booking, groups from a size, and/or certain days from a time.
- 4Set the free cancellation time, for example 24 hours.
Guests see the terms and accept them before they book. The money goes straight to your Stripe account; Menuseum takes no commission.
Tip: Fees are never charged automatically. You can also give a kept deposit back with Refund deposit.
