A restaurant pager system on your guests' own phones.
Guests order at the counter, by QR code, at a kiosk or online and get a number. When the kitchen marks the order ready, their phone shows it in big letters with a vibration or sound, and your 'Ready to collect' TV calls the number with a chime.
- No app: it opens in the browser
- As many 'Ready to collect' screens as you like
- Included in the plan at $9 a month
Everything a pager does, without the pagers
Numbers, not plastic
The phone calls the guest
A 'Ready to collect' screen
One tap in the kitchen
Nothing to clean, charge or lose
No range limit
How it works
- 1
Switch on order numbers
Under Tables & QR, turn on 'Counter with order numbers' and put the counter QR code next to your till.
- 2
Pair a TV
Open menuseum.com/tv on a smart TV, a Fire TV stick or an old laptop and type its code under TV screens.
- 3
Call numbers with one tap
The kitchen or the counter marks an order ready; the guest's phone and the screen update at once.
Pagers or phones?
| Guest pagers | Menuseum | |
|---|---|---|
| What guests carry | A pager from your stack | Their own phone, or nothing: they watch the screen |
| To buy | A set of pagers and a charging base, plus replacements | Nothing: part of the plan. A TV is optional |
| Range | As far as the radio signal reaches | Anywhere with mobile data: terrace, street, car |
| Lost or broken | Pagers walk out of the door and need replacing | Nothing changes hands |
| Online pickup orders | Not covered | Same number, same page, same screen |
Honest limits: guests without a smartphone watch the screen or hear their number called, and an iPhone can't vibrate from a web page, so it plays a sound once the guest taps 'Alert me'. Some venues keep a few pagers for these cases.
Frequently asked questions
Do guests need an app?
No. After ordering or paying, the order page opens in the browser with the number. Nothing to install.
What about guests without a smartphone?
Print the number on a slip with a receipt printer and point them to the screen, or call the number out.
Does the phone vibrate on an iPhone?
Web pages can't make an iPhone vibrate. After the guest taps 'Alert me', the page plays a sound and keeps the screen on until the order is ready. Android phones also vibrate.
Can I keep my pagers?
Yes. Numbers, the guest page and the screen work alongside them.
What does it cost?
Order numbers, the guest page and unlimited TV screens are part of the plan at $9 a month per location, with 0% commission.
