A Reserve button on Google, without a booking network.

Most guests find restaurants on Google Maps. There are two ways to get bookings there: a plain reservation link in your Business Profile, which any restaurant can add for free, and Reserve with Google, which books inside Google but only works through an approved booking partner. Here is how both work, and what to choose.

  • Booking link: free, works for every restaurant
  • No fee per guest with Menuseum
  • Menu and order links in the same place

The two options compared

Reservation link (any restaurant)

Google shows a Reserve or Book button that opens your own booking page. Free, set up in minutes, works with any booking system that has a link.

Reserve with Google (partners only)

Guests pick a time inside Google without leaving it. Only approved booking providers can switch it on, and many charge per booking or per guest.

What we recommend

Start with the reservation link: it costs nothing and guests land on your own page, where they also see your menu and offers. Consider a partner only if most of your guests book on the go from Maps.

Add your booking link in 4 steps

  1. 1

    Open your Business Profile

Search for your restaurant on Google while signed in with the account that manages it, or open business.google.com.

  2. 2

    Edit profile → Booking

Find the field for reservations (sometimes called 'Reservations' or 'Booking links') and choose to add a link.

  3. 3

    Paste your booking link

Paste the booking link from your Menuseum dashboard (Website → Put these links on Google). It carries a tag, so you can count bookings from Google.

  4. 4

Add the menu and order links

In the same place add your menu link and your order link, so Google shows Menu and Order next to Reserve.

Google changes the editing screens from time to time; the field may sit under 'Edit profile', 'Bookings' or 'Reservations'. Links to social media and link shorteners are not accepted as booking links.

Frequently asked questions

Is Menuseum a Reserve with Google partner?

Not yet. Menuseum gives you the booking link for your Business Profile, which shows a Reserve button that opens your own booking page.

Does the booking link cost anything?

Google charges nothing for the link. With Menuseum, bookings are part of the plan at $9 a month per location, with no fee per guest.

Can a delivery app's order button appear on my profile without me?

Yes, Google may show ordering partners automatically. In the profile's food ordering settings you can choose which providers appear and add your own order link.

Can I stop no-shows from Google bookings?

Yes. Guests who book through your link get your booking rules: a card guarantee or a deposit for big groups or busy evenings, reminders and self-cancellation.
